Blairwood Tennis Swim Fitness Club

This project included a 50-meter commercial pool featuring men’s and women’s bathhouses, 2 pump rooms, guard shack, and brick fencing.

The Challenge

The main challenges of this facility included a challenging time frame due to previous contractor’s departure and reevaluating existing design plans.

The Solution

Wescott led an overhaul of the master design plans. We worked alongside the Board of Health to get new pool designs approved and worked alongside the club owner to make site accessible during construction for their members.

The Results

Wescott Construction was able to successfully build a first-class facility while still meeting the project deadline.

“Wescott took over construction of Blairwood’s 50 meter pool when another contractor, who started in the summer, wasn’t going to be able to finish the job by Memorial Day. Our team began in mid-winter and worked seven days a week to finish the job so that the pool would be complete by season’s opening and Blairwood memberships wouldn’t be impacted negatively.  The finished product is one of the grandest private swim clubs in the city. Our craftsmanship is also evident in the landscaping, bathhouses, guard shack and brick wall that was made to match existing structures. Behind the scene is also a pump room that our team thoughtfully designed to be user-friendly and accessible. For anyone from serious competitive swimmers to those looking to relax and catch some rays, Blairwood remains a renowned destination in Louisville.”
